IEN / DECEMBER '16 7 www.ien.com NEWS BRIEFS Baldor's Malinowski Recognized for Contributions to Global Energy Effi ciency John Malinowski, Bal- dor Electric Company's senior director of industry affairs, was recently rec- ognized with the MS'16 Award at the 2016 Motor Summit in Zurich, Switzer- land. The MS'16 award is for his personal engage- ment to make IE3 premium effi ciency motors the glob- al market standard. Ma- linowski has been instru- mental to Baldor and has been a voice and advocate for motor manufacturers working with standards organizations and govern- ment agencies. The award was present- ed at the 2016 Motor Sum- mit, a bi-annual event held since 2007 in Zurich. The event brings selected inter- national experts together from research; federal gov- ernments; utilities; motor, pump, and fan manufac- turers; original equipment manufacturers (OEM); motor systems users and other interested parties to discuss motor and drive technology, new global effi ciency programs and market transformations. Columbus McKinnon CEO Announces Plans to Retire Columbus McKinnon Corporation, designer, manufacturer and marketer of material handling products, technolo- gies and services, has announced that Timothy T. Tevens, the Company's Pres- ident, Chief Executive Offi cer and Direc- tor since 1998, has advised the Board of Directors that he will retire once his successor is appointed. He will con- tinue to serve as President and CEO until that time and will help ensure a smooth transition. Tevens noted, "The last 18 years at the helm of Columbus McKinnon has been a wonderful and deeply fulfi lling experience for me." • In October, PennEngineering announced that it had successfully completed the previously announced acquisition of Heyco Products Inc . Terms were undisclosed and no changes are anticipated regarding Heyco's operations, facilities and employees. • Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has signed an agreement and fi nalized the acquisition of Anderson Seal LLC, a privately owned US- based seal distributor and value-added service partner. This acquisition further expands Trel- leborg's delivery and service of seals, gaskets and custom-molded products for OEMs in industries such as automotive, hydraulic and medical/life sciences. • Fluke Corporation has announced its acqui- sition of eMaint Enterprises, LLC, provider of computerized maintenance management software (CMMS). eMaint's software platform is used by more than 50,000 maintenance professionals in 55 countries, providing asset management solutions in multiple markets, including food processing, healthcare, facilities, fl eet, services, manufacturing and more. • Motion Industries has acquired Eden Prairie, MN-based Braas Company . Braas Company is a multi-regional distributor of products and services for industrial automation and control, specializing in pneumatics, motion control, industrial networking, machine safety, robotics and related industrial parts. • The Danfoss Group has closed its bid to acquire US-based White Drive Products Inc . The acquisition was fi nalized when competi- tion authorities gave their approval. Based in Hopkinsville, KY, White Drive Products brings a strong portfolio, recognized expertise and signifi cant capacity to the global Danfoss organization. The business will be integrated in Danfoss Power Solutions, already a strong force in mobile hydraulics for construction, agriculture and other off-highway vehicles. MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS
