Trial Offers New Products IEN / DECEMBER '16 31 www.ien.com Safety Rope Switches The OMEGA (Stamford, CT) GLHD Series of safety rope switches are designed to mount on ma- chines and sections of conveyors which cannot be protected by guards. These stainless steel heavy-duty switches will protect long conveyor lengths up to 250 m (820'). Omega outlines the following benefi ts: • Unlike traditional mushroom head type emergency stop buttons, the GLHD Series of safety rope switches can initiate the emergency command from any point along the installed rope length and provide robust emergency stop, rope pull protection for exposed conveyors or machines. • All GLHD switches conform to ISO13850 and EN60947-5-5 and can survive indoor or outdoor use including washdown NEMA 6 (IP67) rating. • Applications include monitoring and control of machines and conveyors in all types of manufacturing and production areas for personnel and equipment protection in the fol- lowing industries: Chemical, water, electronics, automotive and warehousing/shipping. www.omega.com; 888-826-6342 Fitting Toolset Designed for Mounting Bearings The BETEX Impact 33 from Bega Special Tools (Bethpage, NY) is a fi tting toolset specially de- signed for quick, accurate, and safe mounting of bearings with a bore varying from 10 to 50 mm. Features include: • The ability to mount bearings, bushings and sealing rings. • 33 rings. • 3 aluminum impact sleeves. • A dead-blow hammer. • A carrying case. • Suitable for O.D. from 26 to 110mm. • A weight of 4.8 kg. www.begaspecialtools.com; 516-737-8012 Bega Special Tools High-Force Electric Actuator Based on Planetary Roller Screw Tech Curtiss-Wright Sensors & Controls Divi- sion (Gilbert, AZ) has released its next-gen- eration Exlar brand FTX Series actuators. The high-force electric rod style actuators feature: • A design based on planetary roller screw technology. • A compact form factor. • A suitable alternative to hydraulic cylinders. • A continuous force rating to 178 kN (40,000 lbf). • Speed to 875 mm/sec (34 in/sec). • Stroke lengths from 150mm (6 inches) to 900mm (3 feet). The FTX215, a next-generation version of the current FT80 model, features: • A capacity planetary roller screw that offers up to 15x the life and higher shock load resistance. • IP65 (min) environmental protection. • Idler pulley design that simplifi es motor installation and belt tensioning/maintenance. • Grease zerk fi tting and removable front seal bushing for maintenance and re-greasing of nut assembly to maximize actuator life. • Modular design with bolt-on mounting hardware allows mounting style reconfi gura- tion in the fi eld using available tools. www.cw-sensorsandcontrols.com Expanded Resistance Value Range for SM4527 Size SMD Wirewound Stackpole Electronics, Inc. (Raleigh, NC) has expanded the resistance value range for its SM4527, the 2W surface mount molded wirewound. Resistance values were limited to 0.01 ohm to 0.05 ohms, but now, the robust SM45727 offers values up 1K ohms in toler- ances of 1% and 5%. This expansion allows for this popular size to be used for a wider range of applications that require a 2W sur- face mount resistor with the robust electrical performance and excellent TCR that wire- wound technology provides. www.seielect.com; 919-850-9500
