It can be Dual Lane Hand Pack Conveyor System Increases Productivity Multi-Conveyor (Winneconne, WI) recently built a dual lane conveyor system with a center rail for a hand pack line. These mild steel constructed conveyors will transport individual trays that will be hand-packed into cases. The system is actu- ally made up of four conveyor sections all joined by seamless transfers. • First is a straight running 24' long conveyor that has two lanes with a center divider (rail) to keep the trays separated. Operators will load the trays onto the conveyor by hand. • The second section is a mere 3' long gapping conveyor with friction top plastic belting used to pull a gap at an elevation of 30" to the top of the conveyor. • A 9' long inclining conveyor was then incorporated, also using friction top plastic belt- ing, to elevate the trays from 30" to 42" to raise the product at a desired hand-pack- ing height for insertion of the trays into corrugated cases. • The fi nal section is 20' long plastic chain pack-table conveyor with a fi xed end-stop along with two gravity roller conveyors - one on each side - running the full 20' length of the pack-table. Liquid level gages are attached to reservoirs and display the amount of fl uid that the reservoir con- tains. The gage needs to be vented to function properly and many times this venting is done to the atmo- sphere, potentially exposing the fl uid to contaminants. The equipment used to monitor the fl uid level is simple and effective. A brass liquid level gage attaches to the side of a reservoir using a single connection point. Fluid from the reser- voir fi lls the glass tube of the gage to the same height. In order for the levels in the reservoir and gage to work in unison, they must be subject to the same at- mospheric forces. This is achieved by venting the gage to the surrounding air. A path that allows air in may also allow contaminants in. The size of the vent open- ing can be minimized in an effort to prevent dirt and moisture from entering. A smaller opening also in- creases the risk of being covered or plugged by those same contaminants.
