product spotlight Electrical and Electronics 30 IEN / AUGUST '16 www.ien.com 20-Gauge MTW Wire for Industrial Applications AutomationDirect (Cumming, GA) has expanded its line of electrical wire for in- dustrial applications to include 20-gauge MTW wire with heat and moisture-resis- tant, color-coded or striped, insulating PVC jackets. The 20 AWG wire features: • A smaller diameter — needed for terminal block connections that cannot accept larger wire. • Availability in 500-foot spools. • Availability in 10 solid colors or striped in white with blue, blue with white, white with orange or green with yellow spiral stripes. • UL approval. • RoHS- and CSA-compliance. www.automationdirect.com/wire; 770-889-2858 NEMA Snap-In & Screw-Mount Sockets Available in Multiple Confi guration Interpower (Oskaloosa, IA) has announced that the com- plete series of NEMA 5-15, 5-20,6-15 and 6-20 snap-in and screw-mount sockets are now available. The most recent addition of the 6-15 and 6-20 sockets completes an Interpower nine series product line which includes both snap-in and screw-mount sockets with four differ- ent confi gurations available for each one. Options include QD and solder tabs with or without wire binding screws. The NEMA 5-15 socket is the only snap-in socket that has two different size face plates. The small face plate (8821 series) is 26.9 x 32mm in size and the large one (8822 series) is 37.27 x 31.99mm. The rest of the snap-in sockets utilize the large face plate size. The screw-mount sockets have a common panel cutout dimension. Current ratings for the sockets include: • 5-15—15A/125VAC • 5-20—20A/125VAC • 6-15—15A/250VAC • 6-20—20A/250VAC www.interpower.com; 800-662-2290 Advanced HMI/Operator Interface Improves Production Uptime The NS Series touch screen HMIs from Omega (Stamford, CT) offer built-in Ethernet communica- tions, exceptional alarming/recipe/data logging ca- pabilities and live video input/display capabilities. By allowing direct resetting of faults, these HMIs save time and effort in troubleshooting and quick- ly return your lines to production. The NS Series achieves fl exible data access to a variety of devic- es. It enables operators to reach the devices on the network including special I/O units, intelligent devices and PLCs. www.omega.com; 888-826-6342 Omega (Stamford, CT) offer built-in Ethernet communica- tions, exceptional alarming/recipe/data logging ca- pabilities and live video input/display capabilities. The switches are now available with an M12 connector integrated directly into the housing, thus making for easy and fl exible interfacing to a bus interconnect box. This feature allows for a simple and detachable cable connection as an alternative to the common potted cable solution. Standard M12 con- nection cables are broadly available. The products offers the following benefi ts: • This option is implemented for 30mm and 35mm housing sizes which refl ects the 20mm "EN" and 25mm "US" mounting style. Metal housing for rugged outdoor applications as well as plastic housing for indoor use are both offering this new feature. • A fi ve-pin version is used in the MP740/60 metallic cases and a four-pin for the MP730/750 plastic cases. All cases are IP67 sealed. The electrical rating is adapted to the power specifi cation of M12 connectors for 4 A up to 120VAC and 3A for 240 VAC. • The MP700 limit switches come with a wide selection of actuator types consisting of pin and roller plungers, roller levers and many others. The electrical switching module is a positive opening circuit with either slow-action or snap-action movements for a broad range of industrial applications. • The products fulfi ll the EN 60947-5-1 standards and are also UL approved. www.wilbrechtledco.com; 888-323-8751 Circuit Breaker Built for the Digital Industrial Era GE's Industrial Solutions business (Dallas, TX) has introduced the GuardEon molded-case circuit breaker (MCCB), a global breaker platform built for the digital industrial era. Designed for tough, real-world applications, GuardEon features: • A single, global platform to serve cus- tomers across industries and geogra- phies — no matter the application. • 4 frame sizes featuring common com- ponents, interchangeable accessories and fl exible options for fi eld customi- zation. • EntelliGuard air circuit breakers. • A rotating faceplate. • An ergonomic rotary handle. • A streamlined design with fewer internal parts than previous MCCBs. • PremEon trip unit, which serves as its brain, is offered in a standard version, PremE- on S, or advanced version, PremEon G. • PremEon G allows users to monitor the breaker's mechanical and electrical health. • The ability to collect and analyze performance data to help customers diagnose problems before they occur and make better-informed decisions about maintenance. • Remote monitoring and testing from a safer distance — outside the arc fl ash zone. • ArcWatch, which provides a system solution for simultaneous uptime and protection across connected equipment. www.GEGuardEon.com; 800-GE-1-STOP business (Dallas, TX) has introduced the GuardEon molded-case circuit breaker (MCCB), a global breaker platform built for the digital industrial era. Designed for tough, real-world applications, GuardEon features: Ground Fault Sensors Keep Operators Safe NK Technologies (San Jose, CA) offers the AGLD Series Ground Fault Sensors to keep machinery and operators safe from acciden- tal shocks. The AGLD's one-piece, solid-core design allows for installa- tion over wires feeding heavy loads. The output relay will change state at any point between 5 and 100mA or 80 and 950mA. A delay can be set to allow downstream protection to activate before the sensor, keeping the main circuit protection hot and equipment energized while smaller faults are cleared. The large LED display shows the precise trip point and extra delay clearly in any light condition. Applications for the AGLD Series include monitoring of large machines, moisture ingress detection in water delivery and treatment systems and safety in heating processes. Key features and benefi ts of the AGLD Series include: • Electromechanical relay output, which provides both normally open and normally closed contacts. • Compatibility with most automation and control systems. • Externally powered with a choice of fail safe or standard operation. • Single-turn potentiometer with the setpoint shown on the display for easy adjustment in the fi eld. • Solid-core case with large sensing window provides ample space for multiple con- ductors. • Simple DIN rail mount for quick installation. www.nktechnologies.com; 800-959-4014 at any point between 5 and 100mA or 80 and 950mA.
