Process, Temperature & Capacity Air-Cooled Spring-Applied Brake Ross Multi-Agitator Planetary Mixers & Dispersers Have Large Working Capacities Pipe Beveling Machine Hex Drivers Offer Strength and Durability Operational Security Power management company Eaton (Eden Prairie, MN) has an- nounced that the Airfl ex Floating Housing Brake, an air-cooled spring-applied brake featuring long-wearing friction ma- terial and a rugged rotating disc, is now available in sizes 130 and 138. Designed with a tapered shaft lock (TSL), exceptional friction life and "quick change" fric- tion lining to reduce maintenance time and cost, the brake is built for heavy duty dragline equipment for surface mining operations. According to the company: • The brake's friction pads can hold up to 2400 E-stops before a friction change is needed, requiring replace- ment one or two times every three to fi ve years, instead of up to six times per year. • When replacement is required, the "quick change" friction lin- ing can be replaced in minutes, instead of the hours required for traditional braking systems. • The TSL also helps maximize service life by eliminating spline wear during freewheeling. www.eaton.com/FHB; 952-937-9800 Ross (Hauppauge, NY) has expanded its PDDM planetary mixer line to include larger working capacities up to 750 gallons. The PDDM is a multi-agitator mixer featuring two planetary stirrer blades and two high speed disperser shafts. Designed for highly viscous and highly fi lled applications, the hybrid planetary mix- er/disperser can incorporate large amounts of dry ingredients into thick or sticky liquid, and apply intense shear to achieve a smooth and uniform consistency. The 300-gallon model (pictured) features: • 4 saw-tooth blades that spin on high speed shafts while revolving around the vessel, accelerating solids dispersion, and particle size reduction. • 2 helical planetary stirrers that rotate at lower speeds to constantly turnover batch material, ensuring that product is evenly mixed and heated regardless of fl ow characteristics. • A sidewall scraper arm that enhances material and heat transfer around the vessel periphery. • The ability to fi ne-tune the observed fl ow turbulence and shear at any stage of the mixing cycle, be- cause the stirrers and dispersers are independently driven by two different motors. www.mixers.com; 800-243-ROSS Esco Tool (Holliston, MA) has unveiled a new pipe beveling tool upgraded with three blades that work together to rap- idly provide compound bevels on highly alloyed, heavy-wall pipe. The MILLHOG Dictator Pipe Machining Tool securely mounts to the inside diameter of heavy- wall pipe from 4.5" to 18" I.D. using three wide clamps with hardened steel contact points. The tool also features a 3-blade tool holder and formed TiN-coated blades that dissipate heat away from the pipe's surface in developing four 100 ft.-lbs. of torque at the cutter blade. www.escotool.com; 800-343-6926 Manufactured from a special alloy steel and heat treated for optimum strength and durability, the two-piece Impact Rated Hex Drivers from Snap-on (Kenosha, WI) are engineered with precise fi t and tight tolerances to prevent slippage and disen- gagement. The Impact Rated Hex Drivers are designed for use with pneumatic or cordless impact guns. The two-piece design surpasses one-piece models, making replacement economical and convenient. Additionally, the bits can be eas- ily replaced by hand; no need to put them in a vice and punch them out with a hammer. The Impact Rated Hex Drivers include optional retaining rings for added protection, ensuring positive attachment to the anvil. www.snapon.com/industrial ; 877-740-1900 Wurldtech, (Vancouver, British Columbia) a GE-owned company and op- erational technology (OT) fi rm, has announced the availability of OpShield – a security solution designed to protect critical infrastructure control systems and assets. The solution provides protection from cyber threats and vulnerabilities found in operational environments. As a security solu- tion for OT, OpShield provides protection at the point where traditional or next-generation fi rewalls (NGFW) leave off, as it is designed specifi cally for OT environments to provide defense-in-depth for embedded systems and industrial assets connected to SCADA, distributed control systems (DCS) and safety systems. Specifi c features include: • The ability to protect industrial assets, applications and communications. • A protocol inspection engine that adapts to OT command and protocols. • Identifi es and alerts or blocks at the application command level, helping reduce the threat. • Offered as a modular solution that scales to accommodate ICS and SCADA environments. www.wurldtech.com; 510-362-6812
