The new valve positioner mounts directly to the top of a control valve with a rugged linear potentiometer. While most valve positioners are side-mounted, the new top-mounted SRD991 uses a linear connection, which mitigates hysteresis between the positioner and actuator by feeding back the actual position of a valve actuator – faster, more accurate and more consistent than ever before. This provides signifi cantly improved fl ow control. Features include: • Graphical LCD display. • Advanced diagnostics. • Partial stroke test (PST) for emergency shutdown applications. • Network protocols & connectivity. www.badgermeter.com; 877-243-1010 Griffi n Motion (Apex, NC) announces a customizable, quick-ship CXY-BS Series 150-mm Precision XY Motion Platform. Ideal for use in mi- croscopy, inspection, wafer processing, microtiter plate processing, laser marking and optical positioning applications, this compact, low profi le ball-screw-drive stage features: • High levels of orthogonality (10 arcsec) and parallelism. • 10 µm linear accuracy. • 1 µm linear repeatability. • The ability to operate in any orientation. • Linear velocities up to 150 mm/sec. • An apertureless frame. • An integrated brushless servo motor directly coupled to zero backlash precision ground ball screws. • Crossed roller bearings. • A high resolution (0.1 µm) linear SS scale encoder. • Optical limit switches with home, and optional brakes. • A 306 mm (12.05") x 358 mm (14.10") x 66 mm (2.60") footprint. www.griffi nmotion.com; 866-906-2709 Novotechnik U.S. (Southborough, MA) introduces the RSX-7900 Series of angle sensors that provide up to IP69K ingress protection, extremely long life of >100 million movements and ISO13849 PL-d safety compliance in a non-contacting design. The sensor is available in six standard measuring ranges with angles from 0 to 60 to 0 to 360 degrees with unrestricted rotation. Resolution is 12-bit across a 4 to 20 mA output with linearity to ±1 percent at ≥ 90 degrees. Repeatability is 0.2 degrees and update rate is 5 kHz. Single and dual redundant versions are available and the life specifi cation is valid even under high shock and vibration conditions up to 50 and 20 g respectively. The RSX-7900 Series is available with a CANopen interface. The OMEGA (Stamford, CT) IN-UVI in-line signal condi- tioner is housed in a rugged stainless steel enclosure, which is connected between the transducer and a readout in- strument. While providing easy accessibility for transducer fi eld calibrations, especially when space is limited, the IN-UVI pro- vides a great solution for applications where a transducer must be located in a hostile environment or some distance away from the display. The IN-UVI supplies a highly regulat- ed bridge excitation voltage for the transducer or load cell and a host of features including: • Improved signal to noise ratio. • Two selectable excitation voltages. • Wide zero adjustment range. • An isolated shunt calibration relay for quick fi eld setup. www.omega.com; 888-826-6342 With the newly introduced EtherCAT P tech- nology, Beckhoff (Savage, MN) unites Ether- CAT communication and power functions in a standard, 4-wire Ethernet cable. The One Ca- ble Automation technology integrates the 24- volt DC supply of the EtherCAT P slaves with the signals and data from connected sensors and actuators. In addition, the system electri- cally isolates the US (system and sensor sup- ply) and UP (peripheral voltage for actuators) from each other, each with up to 3 amps of current for the connected components. The new offering covers all applications from the 24-volt I/O level through to drives with 400 or 600 volts DC, including currents of up to 64 A. In addition, a family of plug connectors has been developed by Beckhoff specifi cally for EtherCAT P to rule out the possibility of incorrect connection to standard EtherCAT slaves. www.beckhoffautomation.com; (877) TwinCAT Carlo Gavazzi, Inc. (Buffalo Grove, IL) announces the launch of its new Single Phase RGx1P Propor- tional Output Controllers. With a typical solid state relay, the output from measuring or monitoring de- vices is an analog signal that needs to be converted to a discrete signal to control a 'common' solid state relay. This can be costly, complicated and occupies additional panel space. With RG Proportional Output Controllers there is no need for this conversion. Upon input from an analog signal, the RG Controller cal- culates and delivers the necessary output power without the need for an additional inter- face device. The RG Series devices are equipped with user selectable switching modes to address different application requirements. Apart from three full cycle switching modes for basic heating applications, the RG Series also features advanced full cycle control for short wave infrared heaters, phase angle switching mode for resistive heaters, light dimming and speed control of AC fans and soft starting for heating elements with low cold state resis- tance. RGC1P Contactors offer the simplicity of an 'out of the box' ready-to-use solution with integrated heat sink, while RGS1P Relays require a proper external heat sink before they can be used in an application. www.gavazzionline.com; 847-465-6100
