New Products 12 IEN / FEB '16 www.ien.com Chemineer JT-2 Impeller PCD-Tipped Milling Insert Grades Extracting Dust and Fumes Premixed and Frozen Adhesives NOV's new Chemineer (Dayton, OH) JT-2 Impeller has been developed for superior blending in transitional fl ow. According to the company, the new impeller is used after conventional turbines have lost effi ciency due to viscous effects and before the need for close clearance impellers. The design promotes blending by effi ciently moving material in one direction in the center of the tank and the opposite direction on the outside of the tank. The increase in effi ciency of this impeller comes from the improved fl ow pattern that greatly reduces recirculation zones that extend the blend times of other impellers. This fl ow pattern improves the top to bottom communication in the vessel. Other benefi ts include: • Up to 50% reduction in power draw for the same blending performance compared with completive impellers. • A two bladed impeller for easy installation into vessels. • A design that operates in either direction. www.nov.com; 800-643-0641 Seco (Troy, MI) has introduced two new PCD- tipped milling insert grades – PCD05 and PCD20 – for use with its popular Turbo 10 cutters. Perfect for aerospace and automotive part production, these well- proven grades produce excellent surface quality in fi nish machining applications involving aluminum and titanium alloy workpiece materials. These PCD grades are also highly effective in cutting polymers and fi ber reinforced composites. www.secotools.com; 440-465-9467 Vortec (Cincinnati, OH) Air Flow Am- plifi ers extract smoke and debris to enhance safety, ergonomics and pro- ductivity. These bladeless blowers take compressed air and amplify it by 60. They can be mounted, ducted and moved with adjustable airfl ow and out- put, and with no electrical requirements they can be mounted wherever there is compressed air. Their quiet operation meets OSHA noise requirements and they are available in multiple sizes in ei- ther aluminum or stainless steel to de- liver fl ow rates from 32 to 2,300 SCFM. www.vortec.com; 513-686-8200 FreezeBond is offered by Epoxies, Etc. (Crans- ton, RI) to eliminate the downside of working with two component adhesives and potting com- pounds. Additional benefi ts include: • Eliminating the need for weighing or mixing of two component materials. • The two components of the epoxy or silicone system are premixed together in the correct ratio as all air is removed and then packaged in a ready-to-use syringe, then frozen to stop the chemical reaction. • The premixed and frozen syringes are shipped on dry ice and stored in a freezer at -40°C. • Syringe sizes range from 3cc to 55cc and some select products are available in larger 6-ounce cartridges. www.epoxies.com/products/freezebond/; 401-946-5564 Dust Collector Withstands Safety Tests Imperial Systems, Inc. (Jackson Center, PA) has tested the CMAXX Dust Collector with IDA DeltaMAXX Filters and found that, in all tests, the fi lters could isolate a defl agration and stop a fl ame front. Without any trace of fl ame or spark transmission downstream of the IDA fi lters or in the clean air plenum, the CMAXX is offi cially certifi ed to be IDA com- pliant. Using a CMAXX without explosion venting, the IDA DeltaMAXX Filters contained a fl ame front with pressures beyond 4 PSI and a defl agration of 185 KST using corn starch. Additionally, the unit's body was tested to withstand a defl agration of corn starch at 185 KST with pressures exceeding 4 PSI. The entire explosion diverted through the IDA DeltaMAXX Filters, which showed no sign of deformation. The internal cages of the fi lters remained in perfect shape and the seals did not deform or melt whatsoever. www.isystemsweb.com; 800-918-3013
